Sedona Marathon Appreciates Elite Runners - and offers incentives to Marathon Elites
Thank you for your interest in the 2012 Sedona Marathon which will be held in Sedona, AZ, on Saturday, February 4th. We are pleased to be able to provide a comprehensive package to a limited number of elite runners who participate in this year’s marathon. Included in our elite package are the following:
To qualify for these elite benefits you must be 18 years of age or older and you must complete the “Application for Elite Status” in its entirety, providing proof of having completed a marathon in the last twenty-four months at or under 2:45 (for men) or 2:55 (for women). Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and notification of acceptance will be issued promptly. Elite Runner application is available for Marathon & Half Marathon Races only.
The application deadline for elite consideration is January 1, 2012. There is an application fee of $50 which must be submitted along with the form for consideration. If your request for elite status is not accepted, this money will be returned to you immediately. If your application is accepted, this money will be used to hold your spot and will be refunded after you complete the marathon. If for any reason you need to cancel, you may do so without penalty, provided we are notified by January 31, 2012. If you do not cancel your application by that date and you do not run the marathon, you will forfeit the entire amount of deposit.
Apply early, as there are only a limited number of elite spots available and there has been tremendous interest in previous years, and applications will be considered on a “first come - first served” basis. Elite Status Application
- Free housing for one night (February 3rd) will be provided at our official race hotel, subject to availability. A limited number of hotel rooms will be available to our elite athletes ONLY. Please note that hotel rooms will be shared; each elite runner will be paired with another elite runner of the same gender. If you are traveling with family members or other guests, you will have to make other arrangements for accommodations.
- Complimentary pasta dinner the evening before the race and breakfast on race morning will also be provided to our elite athletes.
- Race entry fee will be waived.
- Lunch will be provided to our elite runners and their guests after the marathon
